Khaman Dhokla popular dish from Gujrat, its steamed savoury Cake.
This Soft & Fluffy Dhokla is made with Gram flour. A tasty dish for evening snacks try this easy recipe
Ingredients
Besan(gram flour): 1cup
Curd --1/2 cup
Water – 1/4th cup
Sugar – 2tbsp
Redchili powder-- 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
ENO fruit salt – 1 satchet
Oil- required to grease
For the tempering
Oil – 2 tsps
Mustard – 1 tsp
Curry leaves-few
Green chillies- 2
Method
Take a bowl add Besan
Add curd & water gradually by mixing and mix well.
Add salt to taste & redchili powder then add sugar dissolved in water
Let it rest for few mins.
Meanwhile, grease the Cooker container and keep it ready.
Put water for steaming in a steamer or pressure cooker.
When the water starts steaming, add ENO fruit salt to the besan mixture and mix well.
It will froth up well and the batter will become light and fluffy.
Pour equally into the greased container and let it steam for 15-20min or till it’s done ( when you insert a tooth pick in the centre, it should come out clean).
Remove the container from the steamer and let it cool for few mins.
Curry to pieces & remove slowly
Temper with mustard & curry leaves add green chilli fry little then pour on ready Dhokla
