Medu Vada

South Indian Famous Medu Vada, is lentil fritter usually served with Chutney or Sambhar....This is not just enjoyed as breakfast even relished for snacks in the evenings


Crispy fried Medu vada easy to make recipe is a must try


Ingredients for Medu Vada:

Uraddal(BLACK LENTIL): 2cups

Greenchilies-2

Coconut pieces- 10

Crushed pepper- 1sp

Grated ginger- ½ sp

Oil For Deep frying

Salt to taste


Method:

  • Soak urad dal overnight or 4hrs
  • In a blender Grind Soaked Uraddal with very little water make smooth paste
  • Remove in mixing bowl add green chilies, coconut pieces, crushed pepper, grated ginger,salt.
  • Take a deep dish & heat Oil for dee frying
  • While making vada wet ur hand & take one portion on your palm make a hole & slowly leave in hot oil & fry both sides till golden brown
  • If you find it difficult to give shape keep the Mix in fridge for 1/2 hr then shape the Vada & deep fry
Crispy Medu Vada is ready to serve



Coconut & coriender Chutney recipe 


Grated coconut- 1/2 cup

greenchilies- 1-2
coriender leaves 3sps
onion(small)- 1/4th
tamarind pulp- 1sp

Method:

  • Blend in mixer grated coconut,greenchilies, coriender leaves 1/4 onion(small), little tamarind pulp & salt with little water
  • Once grinded coarsely then add bit more water & grind to fine paste
  • (Can even add pudina to chutney just fry them in Ghee little even fry greenchilies & add rest same)


Enjoy Vada & Chutney for breakfast or evening snacks
