Pomfret Masala fry


Pomfret Masala Fish Fry also called the Naked fry 
This pomfret Masala fry is spicy & masalas are well coated so no extra coating is required while frying so these are called Masala fry 

Combine it with Drumsticks Sambar
I have used Aachi Fish Fry Masala for this Masala fry

Ingredients for Masala Fry(4-5 fish steaks)
Aachi Fish Fry Masala: 4sps
Tamarind Paste 
or else
Lemon juice:1/2
Little Salt to taste
Coconut Oil: 3-4 sps

Marinate the fish steaks apply salt(very little )to taste keep for 5 min
Mix together Aachi Fish Fry Masala &1/2 Lemon juice or tamrind paste 2-3sps to form a thick paste 
Squeeze the fish remove excess water & apply this paste leave to marinate for 1/2 hr to 1 hr

In a pan heat Oil on tawa add then place the fish & fry 2-3 min each side....

Tawa Masala fish fry ready serve with Drumsticks Sambar and Rice

King Fish fry


Surmai Fish fry, Seer fish fillets fried coated with Cornflour for the crispy fish fries, Served with Fish curry Rice & Appitizer drink Solkadhi made with Kokam

With very few Ingredients this crispy fish fry is ready

Ingredients:

Seer fish Fillets: 2
Red chili powder: 2-3tsps
Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
Tamarind paste: 2tbsps
Coconut Oil: 4-5 tbsps
Salt to taste
Cornflour: 1 cup
Curry leaves few

Method

Take Seer fish steaks & clean several times
Marinate with salt leave for 5 min
Mix together Red chili powder, turmeric & tamarind paste
Apply this paste generously on fish fillets & leave half an hr to marinate
Coat these in Cornflour dust off extra then shallow fry in oil with curry leaves or Tawa fry on a pan in lesser oil

Crispy Fish fry is ready to serve

Surmai fry Fish Thali

Surmai Fish fry, Seer fish fillets fried coated with Semolina(Rava) for the crispy fish fries, Served with Fish curry Rice & Appitizer drink Solkadhi made with Kokam

With very few Ingredients this crispy fish fry is ready

Ingredients:

Seer fish Fillets: 2
Red chili powder: 2-3tsps
Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
Tamarind paste: 2tbsps
Coconut Oil: 4-5 tbsps
Salt to taste
Semolina(Fine Rava):1/2 cup
Salt to taste

Method

Take Seer fish steaks & clean several times
Marinate with salt leave for 5 min
Mix together Red chili powder, turmeric & tamarind paste
Apply this paste generously on fish fillets
Coat these in Semolina(Rava)both sides & shallow fry in oil or Tawa fry on a pan in lesser oil

Fish fry is ready to serve

Fish Curry for Fish fillets cleaned 2-3 large steaks

Ingredients

Pomfret fish: 2 cut in slices
Coconut grated: 3/4th cup
Red chilies: 4-5
Tamarind/ Amsol: 2sps
Onion: 1/2
Turmeric: 1pinch
Coriender: 2sps
Salt to taste

Method:

Gind All the Ingredients with 1 cup water & make a fine masala
In a Deep dish(kadai) add this masala & little water(to make curry consistency 1 cup water)
Bring to boil then add salt to taste
Add fish fillets & cook covered for 10 min
In between check the fish if cooked just remove from heat
Serve this Fish curry with Hot Rice & fish fry

Crab gravy kerala style


Crab gravy kerala style make it with Cream or coconut milk both tastes creamy & light. You can add black crabs or blue ones both makes sweet gravy 

This is kerala style gravy using Onions & tomatoes. Coconut milk is used to make thin gravy

Ingredients
Onion:2
Tomato:2
Red chili powder: 2sps
Garam masala: 1sp
Gingergarlic paste:1sp
Coconut milk 1cup/ Cream: ½ cup
Oil: 2-3 sps

For the gravy:

Take Oil in pan, add sliced Onions & sauté till changes color 
Then to this add tomato thin stripes fry till mushy. Remove cool down then grind to a fine paste with gingarlic & little water

In the same pan add this paste & add red Chilli  powder Garam masala & salt then add Coconut milk or cream
Mix together till & bring to a boil. Then add cleaned crabs. Cook with lid for 7-8 min
switch off Serve with Rice

Note: I usually make this curry with coconut milk 1cup. You can even make it with grated coconut.

Pomfret & Prawns fry


Fried Pomfret Fish fillets, This Pomfret fish is a good option for Starters as it has a sweet flesh
Tasty & Easy to cook just like prawns Doesn't take much time at all


Fish fillets are Marinated in a Spicy paste & Pan fried, Healthy Starter
I have cooked this fish on the bone, Marinated the whole fish so that it gets tender & juicy, Fresh fish always has a sweet meat. Try this fried pomfret along with prawns fry

Ingredients
Pomfret Fish: 2 medium
Prawns: 10

Red chili powder: 4tsps
Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
Tamarind paste: 3tbsps
Salt to taste

Lemon juice: 1/2
Rava(Semolina): 1cup

Method
Take fish steaks 
make a pocket slit & clean the interiors
Then Clean the fish several times
I have given 2-3 slits for the whole fish.
Peel the prawns & wash thoroughly 
Marinate with salt & lemon juice leave for 5 min
Mix together Red chili powder, turmeric & tamarind paste

Apply this paste generously on fish fillets & prawns
Leave to marinate for 5 min

Coat these in Semolina(Rava)both sides & shallow fry in oil or Tawa fry on a pan in lesser oil 4-5 min each side on medium heat

Fried Pomfret & prawns fry ready to serve, Enjoy with Sea food Meals

Prawns Tempura crispy prawns


Tempura is a Japanese dish usually consisting of seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep fried. The dish was influenced by fritter-cooking techniques. 

Adding vegetables also to shrimp tempura turns an appetizer into a full meal. We like frying vegetables that take minimal prep work. Japanese chefs spend years learning how to create a light, crisp coating on these quick-fried fritters.

Ingredients for Prawns Tempura

For the marination
Prawns: 10
Lemon juice: 1/2pc
Black pepper powder: 2sps
Salt o taste

Oil for deep frying

For the Batter

All purpose flour 3/4thcup
Cornflour: 3tbsps
Ice cold water with ice: 1/2cup
Salt little 
Oregano: 1/2sp

Method for Prawns Tempura 

  • Marinate: take cleaned prawns apply salt to taste & 1/2 lemon juice keep for 5 min
  • Then squeeze out little extra juice then add black pepper powder keep aside for 5 min
  • Mix together All purpose  flour & corn flour & oregano add little by little Ice cold water to form a thick batter leave for 2min
  • Then add ice cubes 2-3to this & mix now the consistency should be flowing
  • Heat oil to deep fry
  • Squeze the Prawns remove excess water & dip the prawns one by one in this paste 
  • Deep fry 2-3 prawns at a time till its crisp
Serve Crispy fried Prawns Tempura as starters

Fish Thali with prawns curry


Lovely Fish Thali. Rice with prawns curry & King fish Fry. When the fish is fresh it makes a good meal. Prawns are very sweet full of proteins. Try this Fish Thali

Easy & simple Prawns curry, you can even make it with coconut milk it will be Lighter & creamier, Just can replace Grated coconut with 2 cups coconut milk

Method to follow
  • Remove prawns shells & Devine the prawns 
  • I have Kept some head intact cutting just front & cleanedj
  • This is to give more flavour to the curry
  • Wash it 2-3 times & keep aside
  • In a blender add all Ingredients under to grind
  • Add water 1 cup & grind to a fine paste


  • Take a Deep dish heat up add oil
  • Temper with chopped Onions & fry
  • Then add the ground paste fry for a minute 
  • Then add 2 cups water bring to a boil
  • Add Salt to taste & lastly add prawns
  • Cook for 3-4 min
Spicy Prawns curry Goan style is Ready to serve 

Tastes best with Steaming hot Rice

Prawns Butter fry


Crispy Prawns Butter fry, good starters for party. Crispy prawns fry with Garlic flavor & tossed in butter, Make this Delicious juicy prawns fry follow this step wise procedure

Recipe for Prawns fry:

Ingredients

For the Marinade:

Prawns: 10
Lemon juice: 1/2 lemon
Pepper powder: 1-2 sps
Salt to taste


For coating
Corn flour powder

For frying

Chopped garlic: 4-5 sps
Oil for deep frying

For tossing:

Butter: 2sps
Spring onion little
Chopped garlic little


Method:

Clean the prawns by removing its head & de-skin keep the Tail intact
Devein & wash the prawns nicely

Marinate the Prawns in lemon juice, salt & pepper powder for 15 min

Squeeze excess marinate then Squeeze each prawns nicely & coat with cornflour

Tab a little so that cornflour sticks then Dust off excess cornflour, do this for each prawn

Meanwhile to make Garlic oil, Take just enough Oil to slightly deep fry the prawns

(Little more oil than shallow frying dont use too much oil as we will fry garlic in it)

Chop garlic very finely & fry it in oil till gets brown & remove...

discard the garlic use just the Oil. (This is optional you can fry the prawns in Normal Oil also)
Next step is to deep fry these coated Prawns in the above prepared Garlic Oil
Can fry 4-5 at a time,  just for a minute or so
Remove on an absorbent Paper, Once all Prawns are fried.

Tossing:

Take a Pan keep on low heat add butter

Once changes bit colour add spring onions & chopped garlic fry it then add Fried Prawns & give it a toss.

Fish Curry & Fried Prawns platter


Spicy King Fish curry seved with Red Rice a coastal combo which is delicious, paired up with Fried prawns. you will enjoy this platter

The traditional coconut curry is a curry made with coconut juice is quite popular. The Goan fish curries and prawn curry are known for their taste and renowned in the whole of coastal India while fried fish dish in their style is well known.This spicy Fish curry is a coconut and kokum curry which is also very popular. Along with this here is recipe for Fish Platter



Fish Curry for Fish 4-5 Pcs

Ingredients

Coconut grated: 1 cup
Red chilies: 4-5
Tamarind/ Amsol: 2sps
Turmeric: 1pinch
Coriender: 2sps


Method:

Gind All the Ingredients with 1 cup water & make a fine masala

In a Deep dish(kadai) add this masala & little water(to make curry consistency 1 cup water)
Bring to boil then add salt to taste
Add cleaned fish & cook covered for 8 min


Serve this Fish curry with Hot Rice & fish fry

Prawns Fry recipe:

Prawns: 6-8
Red chili powder: 2 sps
Turmeric: 1pinch
Tamarind paste: 2sps
Salt to taste
Lemon:1/2
Oil to fry: 3-4sps

Wash the prawns & de-vien them
Marinate the cleaned prawns with salt & lemon juice
Keep aside for 5 min
Make a paste of Red chilli powder, turmeric & tamarind paste
squeeze out excess liquid from prawns and coat well i this chili paste.
Keep the griddle/tawa hot add oil to it
In a plate add semolina and coat the prawns one by one
Fry it on the oiled griddle sprinkle some oil on top
After 2 min turn and cook on the other side for 2 min
Crispy Rava Coated Prawns fry are ready

Pomfret Fry


Fresh Pomfret fried is a treat. This has sweet flesh which is best if you get a fresh lot.

Spicy Pomfret fry 


Fish cleaned: 5-6 pcs
Redchili powder: 3-4sps
Turmeric 1 pinch
Tamarind paste 2 sp
or Lemon juice: 1/2 lemon
Rava/ Semolina: 1/2 th cup
Oil to shallow fry: 6-7sps
Salt to taste

PROCEDURE

  • Clean the Fish fillets by washing in water 2-3times
  • Apply salt to the cleaned  Fish
  • Make a paste of Rechili powder, turmeric & tamarind paste with little water
  • Can use lemon juice instead of tamarind
  • Apply the paste on fish  & let it marinate for 10 min

  • Then roll them in Rava & shallow fry in a pan with Oil

Shark Chilly Fry(Manchurian)


Tasty seafood for todays Sunday lunch, Shark fish which has a white flesh with very little or soft bone is good to make Manchurian

So try this Shark Chilly Fry(Manchurian)style & enjoy these boneless soft shark flesh

This fish is very rare to get and seasonal, also it produces heat in the body so consume it in fair quantities, Include salads with your fish meals, Coastal fresh fish is the best.


Ingredients Shark Chilly Fry

Fish cubed:8-10 PCs
Lemon juice: 1/2
Redchili powder/Achi fish fry masala: 3sps
Corn flour: 4-5tbsp
Salt o taste
Turmeric 1 pinch
Oil to  deep fry
Tomato sauce or sweet chilly sauce: 2-3sps


Method for Shark Chilly Fry
Marinate: fish steaks: apply salt to taste & 1/2 lemon juice keep for 5 min
Mix together chili powder or Achi fish fry masala, Turmeric lillte, 1/2 Lemon juice to form a paste add spoon full water not more.
Squeze the fish remove excess water & apply this paste leave to marinate for 15min- 1/2 hr 

Heat a deep pan with Oil for deep frying
Coat the Fish pieces with cornflour & remove excess then deep fry in oil


Cook for 3 min on each side then remove on an absorbent paper

Once all the fish is fried, In a pan add Tomato sauce or sweet chilly sauce and add fried fish and toss well till its coated

Spicy Shark Chilly Fry(Manchurian) is ready to serve, enjoy this boneless fleshy shark manchurian

Lady fish curry


Coastal Delicacy fish curry & Rice along with Fish fry, This is the staple food of Coastal belt.

Prepared Lady fish curry which is a sweet fleshed fish

Fish Curry for Fish fillets cleaned 4-5 steaks

Ingredients for lady fish curry
Coconut grated: 3/4th cup
Red chilies: 4-5
Tamarind/ Amsol: 2sps
Onion: 1/2
Turmeric: 1pinch
Coriender: 2sps


Method:

Gind All the Ingredients with 1 cup water & make a fine masala
In a Deep dish(kadai) add this masala & little water(to make curry consistency 1 cup water)
Bring to boil then add salt to taste

Add fish fillets & cook covered for 10 min
In between check the fish if cooked just remove from heat

Serve with Boiled Rice, Fish curry meals is ready to serve
