Bisibelebhath


Bisibelebhath is a South Indian special Maincourse where lentils and rice are cooked with vegies & spices are added to make it a savoury tangy dish

This one pot meal is easy to cook & a healthy dish ideal for all age groups

Relish it for breakfast/ lunch this is a filling complete Meal in itself

Ingredients:

Lentils
Toor daal(Bengal gram): 1/2 cup
Moong daal(Split green gram): 1/2cup

Rice: 2 cups
Vegies:
Carrot Capsicum:2 each
Beans, Peas: 1 cup
Betroot: (Optional): 1/2
MTR Bisibelebhath Powder: 3-4sps
Groundnuts: 1/2 cup
Tamarind paste: 3 sps
Water: 8-9 cups

Salt to taste

For tempering:
Oil: 3-4sps
Mustard seeds: 1tsp
Curry leaves: 5-6

Garnishing:
Cashew nuts: 7-8
Boondi Mixture
Ghee: 2sps



Method of preparation:

In a Pressure cooker Heat oil add mustard & once it splatters add curry leaves
Then add washed Toordal 1/2 cup, Moong dal 1/2 cup & fry lightly 
Then add chopped vegies: Carrot, Capsicum, Beans,peas (betroot- optional)& fry them 
Then add washed Rice  & fry a little add Water 8-9 cups mix well 
Add Bisibelebhath powder & groundnuts Mix add tamarind paste Mix & lastly add salt to taste....
For pressure cooking 3 vissels is enough....
After 3 vissels Open cooker once its cooled 
Mix all together, (check the consistency if its not Liquidy add little more water & keep on slow flame)....
While serving Use ghee to garnish along with Khara boondi mixture & cahews...
