Chicken Curry


Chicken Curry served with Chapati/ Roti our Mid week dinner options. This is a tomato based chicken Curry where chicken is marinated before adding to the gravy

Ingredients:

For the Marinade

Chicken: 500 grms
Coriender leaves: 1/4th cup
Curd: 3-4 sps
Turmeric: 1/4 sp
Red chili powder: 1tbsp
Garam masala: 1/2 sp(optional)

Pastes required

Onion: 2

Garlic: 5clove
Ginger: 1/2 inch

Tomatoes: 2

To temper

Oil: 4 sps
Bay leaves:1-2
Cinamon: 1 inch
Cloves: 4
Green chili slit: 2
Onion: 1 big

Coriender powder: 2sps
Turmeric: 1/4 sp
Red chili powder: 1tbsp
Garam masala: 1/2 sp(optional)
Mint leaves: handfull

Follow this simple recipe for chicken curry

Method of cooking

Marinate the chicken with all ingredients under marinate & keep for 1/2 an hr

Grind Onion with 1cup water to a smooth paste & keep aside
Similarly make paste of Ginger & garlic, and also 2 Tomatoes

In a Deep pan(kadai) Heat Oil &all ingredients under temper add Onion & chopped & green chilies fry

Then once Onion changes colour add the Ginger garlic paste fry then add Onion paste & mix well

Add Red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala & salt to taste mix then add Tomato paste

Add Marinated Chicken pieces mix and let it cook with lid, once half cooked add salt to taste & Mint leaves 

Cook till the chicken pieces are cooked then adjust consistency (add water 1 cup if very dry) & cook 2-3 min

Super easy Chicken curry is ready to serve. enjoy with hot phulkas or chapati /Rice
