Misal from Maharashta, West India known for its high spice content and is particularly known as Misal Pav. There are different version of Misal Pav
I have used Avarekai, and prepared Avarekai Misal, You can even use Regular Peas or sprouted Monng to make this Misal
Ingredients Needed
Avarekai : 3cups
(Soaked & deskined )
Or Peas: 2 cups
Cinamin 1 pc
Cardamom 2
Cloves 4
Bay leaf 1
Onion 2
Gingarlic paste: 1sp
Tomato 3,
Pavbhaji masala 1/2sp,
Redchili powder 1sp,
Turmeric : 1/2 sp
Coconut paste: 1/2 cup
Coriender leaves : 4-5 sps

Soak avarekai & peel outer skin
Take a oressure cooker- keep on heat
Add Oil once heated add Cinamin Cardamom Cloves Bay leaf
Add Onions chopped & fry till transparent then add gingarlic paste, stir
Add Chopped tomatoes, add salt
Add pavbhaji masala redchili powder
Add haldi & cook 2 min
Add 1/2 cup coconut paste & mix
Add Avarekai, coriender leaves mix
Add 11/2 cup water & cook for 3 vissels......
Averekai Misal ready Garnish with chopped onion & lemon juice, Serve with Pav( soft bun)
