Surmai Fish fry, Seer fish fillets fried coated with Semolina(Rava) for the crispy fish fries, Served with Fish curry Rice & Appitizer drink Solkadhi made with Kokam
With very few Ingredients this crispy fish fry is ready
Ingredients:
Seer fish Fillets: 2
Red chili powder: 2-3tsps
Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
Tamarind paste: 2tbsps
Coconut Oil: 4-5 tbsps
Salt to taste
Semolina(Fine Rava):1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Method
Take Seer fish steaks & clean several times
Marinate with salt leave for 5 min
Mix together Red chili powder, turmeric & tamarind paste
Apply this paste generously on fish fillets
Coat these in Semolina(Rava)both sides & shallow fry in oil or Tawa fry on a pan in lesser oil
Fish fry is ready to serve
Fish Curry for Fish fillets cleaned 2-3 large steaks
Ingredients
Pomfret fish: 2 cut in slices
Coconut grated: 3/4th cup
Red chilies: 4-5
Tamarind/ Amsol: 2sps
Onion: 1/2
Turmeric: 1pinch
Coriender: 2sps
Salt to taste
Method:
Gind All the Ingredients with 1 cup water & make a fine masala
In a Deep dish(kadai) add this masala & little water(to make curry consistency 1 cup water)
Bring to boil then add salt to taste
Add fish fillets & cook covered for 10 min
In between check the fish if cooked just remove from heat
Serve this Fish curry with Hot Rice & fish fry
Crab gravy kerala style make it with Cream or coconut milk both tastes creamy & light. You can add black crabs or blue ones both makes sweet gravy
This is kerala style gravy using Onions & tomatoes. Coconut milk is used to make thin gravy
Ingredients
Onion:2
Tomato:2
Red chili powder: 2sps
Garam masala: 1sp
Gingergarlic paste:1sp
Coconut milk 1cup/ Cream: ½ cup
Oil: 2-3 sps
For the gravy:
Take Oil in pan, add sliced Onions & sauté till changes color
Then to this add tomato thin stripes fry till mushy. Remove cool down then grind to a fine paste with gingarlic & little water
In the same pan add this paste & add red Chilli powder Garam masala & salt then add Coconut milk or cream
Mix together till & bring to a boil. Then add cleaned crabs. Cook with lid for 7-8 min
switch off Serve with Rice
Note: I usually make this curry with coconut milk 1cup. You can even make it with grated coconut.

With toppings like Onion Tomtaoes & greenchilies topped up with cheese this Pancake is wonderful for breakfast it keeps you full for a long time
Try this Besan chila made just like any Utaapam, pancake with Toppings & cheese
Ingredients:
Gram flour(Besan): 1cup
Cheese: 1/2 cup
Onion: 1
Tomato: 1
Green chilies: 2
Coriender leaves : Handfull
Red chili powder: 1tsp
Turmeric: 1tsp
Water: 3/4th -1cup
Salt to taste
Oil for spreading: 2-3sps
In a mixing bowl add Gram flour & little by little water to form a batter
Add chili powder & Turmeric mix add salt to taste leave it for 5-10 min
Then add little more water to make it pouring batter consistency
Heat a griddle/non stick Tawa
With the help of a Laddle Pour 1 laddle full batter at centre & spread Outwards
Forming a Pancake, Then add all finely chopped toppings, onion tomato chilies coriender leaves. Add grated cheese. Spread little Oil to the sides, close lid & cook 2-3 min till cheese melts
Remove on a plate & serve with Tomato sauce
