Moong dal Dhokala

Dhokala is the very famous Gujarati dish, Healthy & Easy to prepere



I Have used Moong dal(green gram dal/ Yellow lentil) to make healthier version of fluffy dhokala 


Ingredients:

Moong dal(Yellow Lentil): 2 cups
Ginger: 1inch
Greenchilies: 3-4
Turmeric: 1 pinch
Fruit salt :1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil for greasing moulds: 1sp


To Temper:

Oil 2sps
Mustard seeds: 1sp

Garnishing

Coconut gratings :3sps






Method:


  •  Soak Moong dal for 2-3 hrs 
  • Grind Moong dal with ginger, greenchilies, salt, turmeric add very little water & make paste 
  • Paste must not be runny USE very little water
  • Grease mould with Oil  I used Cooker containers....
  • Add water to the steamer & keep it on heat, One water starts bubbling
  • add Fruit salt 1sp (Eno)to batter mix & pour in moulds soon....
  • Steam for 20-25 min.....
For tempering
  • Take oil add mustard seeds fry till it splitters
  • Pour this on Dhokala
  •  Lastly sprinkle coconut gratings
  • (2 cups Moong dal makes 15 pcs)
